Inclusive & Equitable Strategic Planning

Strategic planning is a regular part of organizational development and maturation.  Many organizations also create plans to embed diversity, equity, inclusion and access into their organizations. We believe these processes should be one and the same.  DEIA only works when it is embedded holistically into every facet of the organization. In this workshop, we'll cover how to do strategic planning with a DEIA lens to ensure it is woven into everything you do.

Attendees will leave this webinar understanding how diversity, equity, inclusion, and access are involved in every part of an organization and how to embed diversity, equity, inclusion, and access into a strategic plan.

Designing Power

Designing Power

Systemic racism is an important part of why many nonprofits exist – to serve people who have been marginalized by a system that was designed to hold them down.  But what about our organizations themselves?  Organizations are systems too – do you know how systemic racism might be showing up in your organization or what you can do to change that?  This workshop is ideal for leaders who are considering how to bring their organizational DEI work to a structural level.  In this workshop, we focus on the structural considerations of what systemic racism entails.  We will explore shifting thinking about traditional notions of hierarchy and explore structures that facilitate shared decision-making.  We will explore ways of moving away from hierarchy (power over) to a flatter network of teams or empowering individuals at any level with decision-making authority (power with).  We will also explore the implications of these shifts on the role of the organization leader.  How will your leadership style need to shift to accommodate new decision-making methods?  We will share tools to help organizations prepare for this work and various options for creating more inclusive systems internally.
